Meet CCAH’s New Data Analyst: Anna Rhodes

CCAH is thrilled to welcome Anna Rhodes to our Analytics team!

A self-described liberal, feminist, and animal-lover, Anna moved all the way from Seattle to the D.C. area to join CCAH and put her data skills to work to help nonprofits. Plus, with a sister in New York and a best friend in Florida, she had made more than 60 cross-country trips in the past 15 years. It was time to move east.

The University of Puget Sound alumna majored in history and sees her interest in culture and human behavior as the foundation of her work as a data analyst. Instead of trying to figure out patterns in history books, she looks for trends in donor histories. On a typical day, Anna can be found in front of two computer monitors, with headphones on, writing SQL queries and turning numbers into charts and tables that will help her colleagues fundraise effectively and efficiently.

She comes to us with nine years of direct marketing experience at KCTS 9, the public television station in Seattle. There, she developed and executed strategies that yielded more than $6 million per year. She is particularly proud of her efforts to create a sustainer program and integrate online display ads into the station’s multichannel campaigns.

And now, Anna is using this expertise to improve the direct marketing programs of a number of CCAH’s clients that fit perfectly with her passion for human rights, women’s rights and animal welfare. She calls herself a “crazy cat lady,” and loves spending time with her two cats, George and Eris. Three-year old George has settled into East Coast life, but 14-year old Eris has not fully accepted her new home. Hopefully that will change soon.

When Anna isn’t crunching numbers or hanging out with her cats, she enjoys painting and listening to music. She describes her musical tastes as eclectic—and she’s a huge fan of hip-hop artists Lupe Fiasco and Talib Kweli, whose socially-conscious lyrics speak to her liberal feminist beliefs. She has only just begun exploring the art and music opportunities in the D.C. area, but she is confident she will find plenty of art exhibits, painting classes and new singers and rappers very soon.

We’re thrilled to have Anna’s skills, passion, and personality on board. Welcome, Anna Rhodes!
