A two-plus year relationship between CCAH and Guide Dogs for the Blind is now an award-winning partnership. On June 3, 2015, CCAH won the Direct Marketing Fundraisers Association (DMFA) Package of the Year Award with Guide Dogs for the Blind’s “Letter from a Guide Dog” campaign. The package won in the Acquisition category.
Guide Dogs for the Blind is the nation’s largest guide dog school, providing quality student training services and extensive follow-up support for graduates.
CCAH helped Guide Dogs for the Blind increase its donor support by developing and implementing the “Letter from a Guide Dog” campaign. This prospecting effort featured two letters:
- One written from the point of view of Pelham, a guide dog
- Another penned by Pelham’s partner, Andre.
Pelham’s letter describes the guide dog’s emotions leading to his pairing with Andre. This letter includes an ask and a call to support. Andre’s letter expresses gratitude for Pelham, solicits support and references complimentary address labels that potential donors receive. Guide Dogs for the Blind’s heartwarming message broke its previous prospect response record and lowered investment per donor by 30% over the previous control.
Congratulations to the entire Guide Dog for the Blind team as well as the many, many CCAH staff members whose involvement day-in and day-out made all the work done on behalf of Guide Dogs for the Blind so successful.
