CCAH’s Pete Carter Named Board President of the Direct Marketing Association of Washington
Carter's installation will take place during DMAW's Annual Meeting on Jan. 30, which will include a panel discussion on overhead ratios as a measure of nonprofit performance
Arlington, Va. – January 23, 2014 – Chapman Cubine Adams + Hussey (CCAH), a full-service direct marketing firm serving global nonprofit organizations, is proud to announce that Pete Carter, principal and senior vice president, will be assuming the role of 2014 Board President for the Direct Marketing Association of Washington (DMAW). In this capacity, he will provide strategy, communication and leadership for the entire DMAW community, as well as serve on the organization’s executive committee.
Carter will assume the role of president during the DMAW's Annual Meeting on Jan. 30, which will also include a stimulating panel discussion on "Charity Watchdogs, Donor Perceptions and The Overhead Myth." This panel promises to be an energized discussion on whether or not overhead ratio is a valid indicator of nonprofit performance.
Previously, Carter served as DMAW's vice president and was a member of the Board of Directors. During his term as president, Carter will help guide the DMAW, which is the largest regional direct marketing association in the U.S. The DMAW promotes ethical business standards in direct marketing practices, while supporting direct marketing education in both the for-profit and non-profit environments, as well as sharing information and best practices among members and the industry as a whole. DMAW members are located in the Washington Metro, Baltimore, and Central Virginia area and include end-users, vendors, suppliers, agencies, freelancers, educators, and students.
"I'm honored to represent CCAH and the local direct marketing community as DMAW's president," said Carter. "CCAH has long been involved with the DMAW as a volunteer, sponsor and advocate, and I look forward to taking a larger role in helping the DMAW develop and execute a number of exciting plans throughout the coming year. As the industry continues to move in innovative new directions, the DMAW will continue to be the go-to resource for DC-area direct marketers who want to provide the best service and products possible to their organizations."
Carter has been with CCAH since 1995, during which time he has led the marketing programs for many of the firm's major nonprofit and commercial clients. His work on various direct marketing campaigns has been recognized with numerous industry awards. Carter also serves as a company and subject matter spokesperson at key industry functions.
