CCAH Receives 2015 DMFA Package of the Year Award

“Letter from a Guide Dog” Campaign Wins Acquisition Award

Arlington, Va. – June 9, 2015Chapman Cubine Adams + Hussey (CCAH), a full-service direct marketing firm serving global nonprofit organizations, proudly announces that it received the Direct Marketing Fundraisers Association (DMFA) Package of the Year Award for Guide Dogs for the Blind’s “Letter from a Guide Dog” campaign. DMFA made the announcement June 3rd at the Package of the Year Awards Luncheon and Reception held at the Yale Club in New York.

Since 2000, DMFA has recognized its members’ best direct mail and email fundraising efforts through the Package of the Year awards program. Winners are selected in four categories— Direct Mail Acquisition, Renewal, Mid-Level Renewal and Email Solicitation—by a committee consisting of one representative of each member organization.

Guide Dogs for the Blind’s direct mail acquisition control features two letters — one written from the point of view of Pelham, a guide dog, and another written by Pelham’s partner, Andre. The first letter describes the guide dog’s emotions as he completes his training and prepares to be paired with his partner, Andre. It also includes a fundraising ask and a call to action for support. In the second letter, Andre expresses how thankful he is to have Pelham as a guide dog. This letter solicits support, while referencing Guide Dogs for the Blind’s complimentary address labels, which potential donors receive.

Guide Dogs for the Blind’s heartwarming message broke its previous prospect response record and lowered investment per donor (IPD) by 30% over the previous control.
